Here are twelve tunes to celebrate this special time of year. The music is a selection of traditional tunes from the Irish session repertoire. They are in cello friendly keys, and often in first position as traditional fiddlers play. Some of the tunes would usually be played up a fifth on violin, but other instruments play the tunes in these keys. They are clearly presented and many are easy tunes for a beginner to play, whilst still being interesting for the advanced player to enjoy.
An exciting set included here; Reel in the Year is a showpiece for the advanced player, and most of the tunes played in a session would be very fast, giving a challenge for any level of player!
A brief description of each tune is also included in the introduction page.
It would not be unusual for many of these to be played at any time of year, so they are worth learning and are a special and lovely selection of tunes for your trad repertoire!
FREE additional material: New video tutorials and play-through available for Reel on the Year.
