A beautiful and slow Irish piece for solo cello. This sheet music is an arrangement of an Aisling also known as a vision poem, from the 18th century. In an Aisling a beautiful woman visits in a dream and laments the state of the Irish. Sung in Irish, they were a powerful political expression of the repression in Ireland at the hands of the English. I filmed this and the footage of the area on the 29th December 2020, one hundred years after the Midleton ambush, a battle in my local town of Midleton. Tráthnóinín déanach i gcéin cois leasa dom,
Late one afternoon I was far away by a fairy fort,
